These reflections are written for professionals navigating complex dynamics at work, in leadership, and in significant relationships.
Many difficult situations are not simply communication problems. They involve patterns of influence, credibility, access, loyalty, and power that can be hard to see clearly when you are inside the situation.
These articles are designed to help you name what may be happening, think more clearly, and respond with greater calm authority.

When your boss' tone, access, feedback, or support changes, it can be destabilising. This post helps you look at the pattern before assuming the problem is your performance. ...more

I have spent my working life on the other side of difficult conversations: first as a lawyer, then as a dispute resolution practitioner, and now with women who are doing everything right and still finding that something at work has gone wrong. I'm based in Sydney, Australia, and I know how much can ride on a single working relationship: your reputation, your income, your sense of yourself.
Law taught me to separate evidence from interpretation, to ask what can actually be shown and what is being assumed. Dispute resolution taught me what sits underneath what people say, how conflicts escalate, and why the loudest response is rarely the wisest one. Together, they let me look at a messy situation and help you tell the difference between what happened and what you've been left to fill in.
I also look at the whole picture instead of one person's behaviour: who influences whom, which relationships carry weight, where the pattern began, and what keeps it going. That is how a run of small, deniable moments starts to make sense.
Since my university days I have run empowerment training and programs for women. I hold transformational coaching, facilitation, and transformational leadership certifications focused on working with women, and I have spoken to many groups of women. What I enjoy most is the moment a woman stops doubting herself and starts trusting her own judgement again.
I believe capable, decent people deserve a fair go. Your long-term goals should not be compromised because someone else wants a short-term win. I will be in your corner, help you work out what the right thing is when the answer feels unclear, and take the fastest route there is without cutting corners or asking you to compromise your integrity. The aim is not just to solve the immediate problem, but to find a fix you can feel confident in and live with long after the pressure has passed.
Hear from a professional who gained a clearer read of what was happening, and a steadier way to respond.
“Mirah helped me overcome a workplace situation that was causing me a great deal of stress and affecting my satisfaction at work. She calmly helped me see what was happening beneath the surface and stop reacting in a way that gave the situation power over me. Her deep insights into people’s behaviour have had a profound impact on my life.” Sarah, National Policy Advisor
This is for you if you want to:
- understand what is happening before you react
- separate the pattern from the emotion around it
- protect your credibility while you deal with the issue
- communicate strategically instead of on impulse
- make a proportionate decision
- hear an objective outside view
- leave with a practical next move
This probably isn't the right fit if:
- you mainly need legal advice or representation
- you need clinical mental health treatment
- you want someone to declare another person wrong straight away
- you want to escalate before you understand the system
- you want someone else to make the decision for you

Not Sure Yet? Talk to Me for 10 Minutes First
If you aren't sure your situation is serious enough, or whether I'm the right person to help, book a short phone call. It is not a sales pitch. It is a chance to check the fit and get comfortable, so that if we do work together, we can get straight into it.
I'll ask you:
- what exactly is going on
- why it bothers you, and what the long-term impact could be
- what you have already tried
- what you want from this, whether that is to fix things, to leave, or, if you have already left, to finally make sense of it
You may be asking what to say. You may also be asking whether to stay, whether to escalate, whether to involve HR, whether to document, whether to confront, whether to reposition, whether to negotiate, or whether to leave.
Once you understand the dynamic, the question becomes what it means for your position, your options, and your direction over the next few years. That is the question a Strategy Session helps you answer.
If someone is undermining you, if your credibility has taken a hit, if you've been excluded, caught in conflict or political tension, or stuck in a power dynamic you can't quite define, you do not need to work it out alone at 2am.
A Strategy Session gives you a private, structured space to understand the pattern, define your position, and decide what to do next.
What workplace situations can a Strategy Session help with?
Exclusion, undermining, shifts in your credibility, power dynamics, difficult bosses and managers, breakdowns in working relationships, visibility problems, office politics, workplace conflict, and unclear roles. If it is hard to name but it is affecting how you work, it is worth a conversation.
How do I know if I'm being undermined at work, or just overthinking it?
You don't need to be certain to begin. The session is not about proving wrongdoing. We look at the patterns, the behaviour you can actually observe, the context, what has changed, the possible explanations, and what each would mean for your next step. Plenty of people sense that something is off long before they can prove it.
Is this legal advice, therapy, or executive coaching?
It is something different. A Strategy Session is private strategic consulting on workplace dynamics. It draws on my background in law and dispute resolution, but it is not legal advice, and it is not therapy. It is a structured way to read a hard situation accurately and choose a proportionate next step. If you need legal advice or clinical support, I will tell you.
What will I leave the Strategy Session with?
A clearer interpretation of what is happening, a defined line, possible response options, wording for an important conversation, practical next steps, and a better sense of what to watch for next.
